Terms of use

1. Who we are

Laminaro is provided by Fionia AG, Bundesplatz 3, 6300 Zug, Switzerland, UID CHE-205.812.124 ("Fionia", "we"). These terms apply between Fionia and the person or company that uses or subscribes to Laminaro ("you").

2. The product

Laminaro is an add-in for Autodesk Inventor that simulates incompressible flow inside and around parts. It is new, and it changes: features may be added, changed or removed, and it may contain errors. It is intended for professional use by engineers.

3. Subscription and payment

You buy the subscription from Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy LLC), which acts as reseller and merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy's terms govern payment, taxes, invoicing and refunds. The subscription renews monthly until cancelled. You can cancel at any time in your customer portal; access continues to the end of the paid period. There are no pro-rata refunds unless the law or Lemon Squeezy's refund policy requires them.

4. Price

The price is the one shown on laminaro.com and at checkout. Fionia AG may change the price. A change applies to an existing subscription from its first renewal at least 30 days after we have told you by email; you can cancel before then. A new subscription is charged at the price of that day.

5. Licence

While your subscription is active, Fionia grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to install and use Laminaro for your own business purposes. One seat is for one named person, who may use it on any of their own computers. A computer that only runs simulations sent by licensed users (a "solver PC") needs no seat. You may not resell, rent or share licence keys between people, circumvent or reverse engineer the licence check or the AI service, or use Laminaro to build a competing product.

Laminaro checks the licence periodically. Without a successful check for 14 days, it switches to read-only use: existing studies, results and reports stay viewable; new runs need a valid licence. The same applies when a subscription ends.

6. Free trial

The free trial is offered to users in the EU/EEA, the UK, Switzerland and the USA. It includes 3 runs and use of the AI features up to a value of USD 3, needs no payment details, and is limited to one trial per person and computer. Reports made during the trial carry a watermark and are for evaluation only. Fionia may change or end the trial offer at any time.

7. Third-party software

Laminaro installs and runs third-party open-source software, including OpenFOAM® (GPL v3), ParaView (BSD), Microsoft MPI and Python. Those components are licensed to you under their own licences, which nothing in these terms restricts. OpenFOAM® is a trademark of OpenCFD Ltd; Laminaro is not approved or endorsed by OpenCFD Ltd. Autodesk Inventor is not part of Laminaro; you need your own licence. Laminaro is not affiliated with or endorsed by Autodesk, Inc.

8. Your data and the AI features

Your models, inputs, case folders, reports and videos are yours. Fionia claims no rights in them. Processing of personal data is described in the privacy policy.

The CFD Tutor, the AI Checks and the written reports use an AI model operated by a third-party provider (currently Anthropic PBC) through Fionia's server. They receive the study's settings and numbers, your questions, part and face names, and pictures of the result; never the CAD model. AI output can be wrong or incomplete, and is advice only. AI use is subject to a fair-use limit per seat; when it is reached, the AI features pause until the next period. You can switch the AI features off in Settings.

9. Engineering results

Laminaro produces numerical estimates from simplified physical models (steady RANS turbulence models). Results depend on the model, the inputs and the assumptions, and can deviate substantially from reality. They are not a certified calculation and do not replace verification by a qualified engineer, applicable codes and standards (for example EN 1991-1-4), testing, or professional judgement. You are solely responsible for checking results and for any design, safety or structural decision based on them.

10. Support

Fionia does not provide support, training or service levels. Laminaro is built to explain itself through the CFD Tutor and the documentation, which are provided as is. Feedback can be sent to suggestions@laminaro.com, without a right to a reply.

11. Acceptable use

Do not use Laminaro to break the law, infringe others' rights, circumvent licence checks or usage limits, attack or overload our servers, or extract the AI provider's models or prompts. You confirm that you are not located in, or acting for anyone in, a country or on a list subject to Swiss, EU or US sanctions.

12. Warranty

Laminaro is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, Fionia excludes all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of results and uninterrupted availability. Statutory warranty claims under the Swiss Code of Obligations are excluded to the extent permitted by law.

13. Liability

Fionia is liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and for personal injury where the law does not allow a limitation. In all other cases, liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law (Art. 100 CO), in particular for slight negligence, indirect or consequential damage, lost profit, lost data, and damage arising from decisions based on simulation results. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Liability for auxiliary persons is excluded to the extent permitted (Art. 101 para. 2 CO).

14. Suspension and termination

You can terminate by cancelling your subscription. Fionia can terminate or suspend your licence with immediate effect if you materially breach these terms, and can discontinue Laminaro with 30 days' notice; prepaid fees for the period after discontinuation are refunded. On termination, the licence ends and Laminaro stops running new studies. Your local files stay yours.

15. Changes

We can change these terms. Material changes are notified by email at least 30 days in advance. If you don't agree, cancel before they take effect.

16. Governing law and venue

Swiss law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) and conflict-of-law rules. The exclusive venue is Zug, Switzerland. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection law and venue rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
